WDN was founded in June 2014 by a group of industry leaders, employers, and human resource professionals who share a vested interest in improving the workplace by creating a more diverse and inclusive employment environment.

Gov. Dennis Daugaard was a driving force behind the creation of Workplace Disability Network, previously known as the Workforce Diversity Network.

Executive Director

Heidi Mecham assumes the role of Executive Director at The Workplace Disability Network of the Black Hills, bringing a rich blend of personal insight and professional expertise. With a robust background in non-profit management, grant administration, and community engagement, Heidi brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to steer the organization toward new heights.
