SD Governors Awards
Each year, the Governor’s Awards honor the outstanding achievements of South Dakotans who are advancing employment opportunities for people with disabilities. These prestigious awards recognize businesses, individuals with disabilities, and community members who are making a measurable difference.
WDNBH’s Role
As a proud participant, WDNBH submits up to three nominations annually for Outstanding Employer of the Year, exclusively highlighting businesses from across the Black Hills region.
These nominations help spotlight employers who go above and beyond to support a workforce that includes individuals of all abilities.
Nomination Categories
Outstanding Employer of the Year is awarded in three categories:
Small Employer: Fewer than 50 employees (Private, Non-Governmental)
Large Employer: More than 50 employees (Private, Non-Governmental)
Public Employer: Any size (Government—local, county, or state—or Educational, such as a school district, university, or technical college)
Two letters of support are required for each nomination. These must be written by individuals other than the nominator and must not contain any protected health information (HIPAA).
How to Submit a Nomination
You can submit nominations to WDNBH at any time throughout the year using one of the following methods:
