Access + Opportunity:
Tourism in South Dakota
May 27, 2026
9:00 AM MT / 10:00 AM CT

Tourism is one of South Dakota’s leading industries, and accessibility plays a critical role in both who we employ and who we welcome. Kelsey Stine will join Vicki and Heidi to explore how inclusive practices can strengthen businesses, improve visitor experiences, and open doors to new opportunities across the state.

Kelsey Stine is the founder of Vela Creative Co. and an accessibility advocate based in South Dakota. As a disabled entrepreneur, she shares real-world insights on accessible tourism through her work. She is the creator of Accessible Black Hills, where she highlights accessibility experiences across the region and collaborates with local businesses.

Her work today includes storytelling and content creation, including a blog series with Visit Rapid City focused on accessibility in travel. Kelsey brings a practical, lived-experience perspective on how accessibility shapes both visitor experiences and business success across South Dakota’s tourism industry.
